Pokémon ex originally debuted almost 20 years ago in EX Ruby & Sapphire and were a mainstay in the Pokémon TCG until EX Power Keepers in 2007. Now they’re back in Scarlet & Violet, and while they may look a bit different, they maintain the essence of the original mechanic—powerful two-Prize Pokémon that can also evolve from one-Prize Pokémon. Pokémon ex look similar to the more recent Pokémon-EX from the Black & White Series and the XY Series, but Pokémon-EX were almost always Basic Pokémon, while Pokémon ex can appear at any stage of Evolution!
